GT Channel’s Taro Koki’s 350Z Roadster
By: Taro Koki
GT Channel has called upon the premier names in the aftermarket industry to produce a 2006 Nissan Z Roadster. Already powered by the award-winning Nissan VQ35 V6 engine, the GT Channel Z Roadster receives the latest forced-induction system from HKS, the GT Supercharger–incidentally, the first unit in North America. HKS has also provided its Titanium exhaust and fuel management system. To better handle the additional power from the HKS GT Supercharger, the GT Channel 350Z Roadster uses Nismo drivetrain products, including Nismo clutch disc, flywheel and locking differential. Stillen, the official distributor of AP Racing, has provided enhanced stopping capabilities with its AP Racing brake systems. Cornering, one of the Z’s many strong points, has been significantly improved using Mine’s coilover suspension and 19-inch Work Wheels (9-inch wide front, 10-inch wide rear) shod in BFGoodrich KDW tires; corner-balancing and installation handled by Steve Mitchell of M-Workz. Aesthetic and audio modifications include a full Vertex Lang aerokit courtesy of Vertex (painted by Sixteen Customs), Bride carbon fiber reclinable seats and Pioneer in-car audio.
